Human-Machine Hybrid Computation

چکیده
INTRODUCTION A common thread among fields such natural language processing, computer vision, and artificial intelligence is that all seek to automate tasks which humans do naturally. Examples include listening to human speech, seeing and recognizing objects, reading text, and understanding meaning. If they could be automated by computers, then they could be done on demand, and much more quickly and cheaply than human workers can do. However, for many problems, the quality provided by such algorithms is still too low to be used in applications that demand high accuracy and reliability. The other end of the spectrum is traditional human labor, in which workers can be hired to do the same types of tasks. Their accuracy is usually much higher than that of computers, but human workers take more time and require more money to do the same amount of work.

Intelligent application for Heart disease detection using Hybrid Optimization algorithm
Prediction of heart disease is very important because it is one of the causes of death around the world. Moreover, heart disease prediction in the early stage plays a main role in the treatment and recovery disease and reduces costs of diagnosis disease and side effects it. Machine learning algorithms are able to identify an effective pattern for diagnosis and treatment of the disease and ident...
متن کاملA New Hybrid Meta-Heuristics Approach to Solve the Parallel Machine Scheduling Problem Considering Human Resiliency Engineering
This paper proposes a mixed integer programming model to solve a non-identical parallel machine (NIPM) scheduling with sequence-dependent set-up times and human resiliency engineering. The presented mathematical model is formulated to consider human factors including Learning, Teamwork and Awareness. Moreover, processing time of jobs are assumed to be non-deterministic and dependent to their st...
متن کاملOPTIMAL SHAPE DESIGN OF GRAVITY DAMS BASED ON A HYBRID META-HERURISTIC METHOD AND WEIGHTED LEAST SQUARES SUPPORT VECTOR MACHINE
A hybrid meta-heuristic optimization method is introduced to efficiently find the optimal shape of concrete gravity dams including dam-water-foundation rock interaction subjected to earthquake loading. The hybrid meta-heuristic optimization method is based on a hybrid of gravitational search algorithm (GSA) and particle swarm optimization (PSO), which is called GSA-PSO. The operation of GSA-PSO...
متن کاملHuman-Adaptive Robot Interaction Using Interactive EC with Human-Machine Hybrid Evaluation
Using interactive evolutionary computation (IEC), we created human-robot interaction system that maintains user interest over time. Although IEC enables users to design systems reflecting subjective preferences, it forces them to evaluate a large number of individuals. The refined IEC techniques, we propose in this regard, human-machine hybrid evaluation (HMHE), lets users manually evaluate onl...
متن کاملScalable Hybrid Computation with Spikes
We outline a hybrid analog-digital scheme for computing with three important features that enable it to scale to systems of large complexity: First, like digital computation, which uses several one-bit precise logical units to collectively compute a precise answer to a computation, the hybrid scheme uses several moderate-precision analog units to collectively compute a precise answer to a compu...
متن کاملComputation and brain processes, with special reference to neuroendocrine systems.
The development of neural networks and brain automata has made neuroscientists aware that the performance limits of these brain-like devices lies, at least in part, in their computational power. The computational basis of a. standard cybernetic design, in fact, refers to that of a discrete and finite state machine or Turing Machine (TM). In contrast, it has been suggested that a number of human...
